ABOUT
Paolo Bazzani was born in Felonica (Mantua) in 1965.
Growing up in a small town in the Lombardy province – where any colorful fantasy clashed with the fog of the Po Plains and where drawing, cutting and pasting paper were an escape from everyday life – certainly helped develop Paolo’s creativity.
Paolo attended I.S.I.A. in Urbino between 1984 and 1988, where Michele Provinciali was one of his professors. His career began at Studio MID-Design Milano. He also worked with several advertising agencies: G&R S&H, Y&R, and Pubblicis. He established Studio Elica in 1995. The small studio received acknowledgments and recognition in trade magazines and annuals such as Novum Gebrauchgraphic, European Regional Design Award, ADCI annual, and ADI design annual.
In 2003, Paolo established the Paolo Bazzani Studio which focuses on graphic arts projects and art direction for the fashion industry. Paolo, who has been a close friend of Antonio Marras since the early nineties, still works with Antonio on the graphic image and stage design of the runway shows for the Antonio Marras Women’s Collection, the Antonio Marras Men’s Collection, and the I’M Isolamarras line. When Antonio Marras became the Creative Director of KENZO in 2003, Paolo was placed in charge of the art direction for events presenting the women’s and men’s collections of the French brand between 2003 and 2011. Paolo was also responsible for the book project that was published by Rizzoli New York for the brand’s 40th anniversary.
Always interested in the emotional impact of the message conveyed through graphic arts and the three-dimensional development of communication, Paolo loves to explore the use of unique materials and unusual shapes that make the message particularly striking. He also designs sets for events and theater.
Studio Bazzani works closely with its talented team: Marco Dini and Sara Dessi.
